"Nice friendly staff. Doctor great with kids!"
- Gina L.
At Rush Creek Dentistry, we are proud to provide quality dentistry for patients of all ages. We would love to see your little one in our office as early as six months of age, or as soon as a tooth appears.
The first visit
Baby’s first dental exam shouldn't be stressful for you or your child. It is important to note that we rarely do any dental work during the initial appointment. Usually, this consists of a visual examination and consultation with the parent. A child’s first appointment is one of the most important dental visits of his or her life, for several reasons:
- Early visits give children the opportunity to become familiar with the dentist, the staff, and the office. This makes future dental procedures much less intimidating.
- The doctor can monitor your child's oral health and development from the beginning.
- We will teach you how to care for your baby's gums and emerging teeth, including the role of proper nutrition. Many common childhood problems such as baby bottle decay can be avoided by keeping your baby’s teeth clean.
We want to see that little smile grow up beautiful and healthy. As children get older, we strive to instill a positive attitude about dental care. We have a play area, video games, televisions, and lots of laughter throughout the office to help make dental visits fun for kids and stress-free for parents.
We educate children about oral health, without intimidating them or talking down to them. We encourage them to take pride in good hygiene, and look forward to dental visits.
Nitrous oxide is a safe and gentle way to help children relax, while decreasing pain sensitivity. Combined with gentle techniques, many procedures can be completed with no shots. Sealants are recommended for most children, as soon as the adult teeth emerge. This helps prevent decay, particularly in areas where little ones have difficulty cleaning.
Regular dental checkups and cleanings are important for children as well as for adults.
